LR 3.6 . New user. I cannot progress from Library module to any other. The program just shows the 'egg timer' seemingly indefinitely until the not responding message comes up. The catalogue has about 2000 images, the current folder 13 one of which is selected.

Hi Steve,

Does this happen regardless of which folder or image you have selected in Library? What type of files do you have in your catalog?

You can try starting Lightroom with new preferences. Here's information on finding the preference file: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/843/cpsid_84...

Don't delete the existing prefs file, just move it to a different location, and Lightroom will create a new one when it starts. If doing this fixes the module switch issue, I may want to get a copy of the broken prefs file from you to see if that offers any clues.

Thanks,
Becky

Thanks Becky. Yes it doesn't matter which folder or file, they are a mix of JPEG and RAW. I suspect that after I first installed it and imported from 'my pictures' trying to run before I could even crawl I probably had a few thousand images active when I first tried to move modules?
Anyway , I have just finished re-installing from my disc and all seems fine now.
Thanks again for your time.
How do I let it be known that the problem is resolved?
