I have been trying to create a panorama in CS5 Photoshop and get an "bad argument" error. I have tried both from Bridge and directly in Photoshop. Any suggestions on how to start to find the problem? Thanks

What is the specific error message?

Have you installed all the Photoshop updates?

Did you move or delete any script files from the presets folder?

Did you copy any plugins or scripts from a previous version of Photoshop?

Thanks for your quick response!

I have installed the Photoshop updates.

This is the first version of Photoshop I had so I haven't copied anything from a previous version.

I don't believe I deleted anything, however it is not impossible that I didn't. I had installed Lion and then found out that it wasn't compatible with my vinyl cutting machine so I had to reinstall Snow Leopard and start from scratch. I did have to reinstall CS5 but it should have been like installing it for the first time since the computer was completely wiped.

I just started playing around with Photoshop, watching the tutorials, etc., so it could very well be something I am doing incorrectly.

Thanks so much!

The error message is very long, but this is the beginning of it.

IOError: Bad argument : Invalid resource format. Error in line 0, at character offset 560, in '{ alignChildren: 'fill', text: '$$$/AdobePlugin/Shared/Photomerge/Process/Name=Photomerge', orientation: 'row', alignment:'fill', view1: Panel { text: '$$$/AdobePlugin/Shared/Photomerge/Scr/Layout=Layout', orientation: 'column', alignment:['fill','fill'], view2: Group { orientation: 'column', alignment:'fill', _LOauto: RadioButton{ text: '$$$/AdobePlugin/Shard/Photomerge/Scr/Auto=Auto', alignment:'left' }, view4: Image{ image: '/Applications/Adobe%20Photoshop%20CS5/Presets/Scripts/Stack%20Scripts%20Only/P_AutoAlign_Automatic_87x38.png' }

Thanks again for your response and you got me thinking that maybe there was something that was deleted on accident.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled CS5 it seems to be working now, so THANK YOU for your help!
