Which application?
Which version?
Which OS version?

Most errors like that are due to corrupt fonts, or corrupt OS font caches.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Something prevented the text engine from being initialized..

After installing El Capitan on my Mac, I keep getting this error message: Could not complete your request because something prevented the text engine from being initialized. I have tried following the advice on the forums but still no luck.e
