I have a very annoying issue with Bridge CS5 and camera raw. Every time I try to edit or fix a picture in camera raw I get this error message:

"Unable to create local adjustment. All the local adjustment controls are set to have no effect on the image."

And I can't do anything to change the settings on Bridge. Please I need an urgent advise to fix this. Highly appreciated.

The error message is telling you simultaneously the problem and the solution. You are trying to use a local adjustment control but your current settings are all zeroed out.

These are the Local Adjustment tools:

These are the Local Adjustment Controls:

As you can see, all of the settings (brush size settings do not count) are set to zero, which means no change will be created, thus the error message (which is just trying to nicely, if a bit technically, let you know that you're about to waste your time).

Just change some of these settings and you should no longer see this error.

OK, I will try immediately. Since the solution seems easier than I thought I feel a little embarrassed. Thanks a lot Brett for your assistance.
