Here's another thread I started, but still no definitive answer/solution:

Are your files on a server?

Yes they are. I figured it had something to do with permissions but wasn’t sure where I needed to change that part.

Mine are on a server as well. I am able to use the keywords function on my local drive, but not to those files on the server.

There are other threads addressing this.
1. Its been acknowledged as a bug. However
2. Adobe doesn't support working across a network. Sooner or later, something will break. Best practice is to work off a local hard drive.

Adobe Bridge is sold with other Adobe software as a commercial product. There are very few businesses that even allow working on local drives due to file security. How can Bridge not be able to support working via a drive mapping, how can Adobe even justify this? The odd thing is that I can write metadata to Jpegs and CR2 files but the TIF files are the one's that fail. They will however, eventually write which makes this more of a bug than a functionality issue imho

I'm not sure where you got that idea but I've been in IT and graphics for 20+ years and working off a server has always been considered dodgy.
If you work directly off a server, understand that you'll probably have issues sooner or later.

I have just started having the same issue. However my files are :
- On my laptop (not on a network
- Not RAW
- And I have just, as suggested elsewhere, gone back to version 11.1 of Adobe Camera Raw and have emptied cache etc. But still no go.

I have had this problem writing metadata to JPGs if I have Google Backup and Sync active. (I use B and S for uploading to Google Photos). My workaround is to set the Google app to Pause when I am using Bridge, and with that setting I do not get the error in Bridge. When I have finished in Bridge, and if I have sufficient changes to make it worth sending to Google, I resume the Backup and sync application.
