Lightroom CC: Error while importing

After carefully selecting about 700 photos out of 1400 I started the import. After 141 images LR reports a problem with the import, no specific details of why were given. It took me about an hour of work to select the images I wanted to import and now that work is thrown away by LR! Thanks

I am sorry to hear about your issue. So we know what version of Lightroom you are using, could you go to Help>System Info... and get us your installed version number?

I see you are running Lightroom version 1.5.  The current version is 2.1.1. Can you update Lightroom CC and try your import again?

As far as I can see it doesn't support my OS (El Capitan10.11.6).

Yes, my laptop cannot upgrade to Sierra as it doesn't support it.

So, which features is it that you need in Sierra and later that are so important that you cannot support El Capitan?
