Error Deleting Multiple Photos

When selecting more than one photo in Detail view, say two photos, and then pressing the delete keyboard shortcut of Option + Backspace, it only deletes one of the two photos.

If you select delete from the menu then both photos are deleted, however the keyboard shortcut only deletes one which is annoying if you are trying to delete all photos currently selected.

If you try the same thing in Grid view it works as it should, interestingly.

This "feature" has been present in many recent versions. So I guess you should enter a feature request, since they might consider this not a bug. Good luck and happy processing!

As designed: this is normal and expected behavior.

I just don't accept this as an answer. What other application allows you to select multiple files but then only deletes one? Presumably the first one you select? When you right-click the menu it even says "Delete X photos" not "Delete 1 photo".

This is really poor UI design if this behaviour is indeed intended. I suggest you raise this with your product design people. There shouldn't be one behaviour (delete a single photo) from a keyboard shortcut and another totally different behaviour (delete multiple photos) from the mouse.

Try instead to right-click on the photos and use the context menu command instead of the shortcut.  It is designed for this purpose.

Yes that is obviously one way of doing it, but it makes no sense to have the keyboard shortcut only delete one. It's messy and confusing. If you want to delete one photo, select it and delete it. If you want to delete several photos, select several photos and delete them ALL. It's just blindingly obvious behaviour and is intuitively what the user would expect. I've designed software, I'm not an idiot.
