Eos 70d detected as EOS 6d in LR 5.2 RC

The EOS 70D is recognised as EOS 6D in Lightroom 5 and 5.2 RC.
Creating a new camera profile works but it will not be available in LR 5 bcause
of the wrong camera string in the profile.

The metadata panel lists the camera as a 70D but the profiles that can be chosen from are indeed from a 6D.

The support for the 70D is listed as "preliminary" so perhaps this is Adobe's way of supporting the camera, by hacking LR to look for for 6D profiles with the unfortunate side-effect of ignoring 70D profiles you've created.

Can you change the profile or in the DNG used to create the profile, perhaps with a hex-editor, or an Exif-manipulation-tool to indicate the DNG or profile is from a 6D so you can select your profile in LR?

I would expect this situation to be resolved when LR 5.2 final is available.

What did you change to what and where to get your custom profile to be seen in LR 5.2 RC?

Steve is correct. The preliminary 70D support was mapped to the existing 6D support in 5.2 RC as a way to make it available early. Final support for the 70D will appear in 5.2 Final.

Hi together,

thanks to you all.
@Steve: i changed the string Canon EOS 70D to Canon EOS 6D in the profile file with a hex-editor.
Hope for the 5.2 final.

Best regards

Frank
