When I try to use Enhanced Detail, a requester window pops up, saying "System Update Required." I have Windows 10 and it is up date. Last update was two hours ago. Couldn't be more up to date. Using Lightroom Classic 8.2, updated today.

Manually check for updates. You will probably find WIndows 10 1809 there for you to install.

No - that's not it.  I have the same problem.  Update is  on - 100% certain.

I have the same problem.  My update history shows that Windows 10 October 2018 update is on.  I just ran an update today and picked up even more updates.  I still get "System Update Required  Enhanced Details requires Windows 10 October 2018 update or later".

My auto-update was on BUT I had to check manually.
Check the version of your windows 10 first.
It should say 1809

Hit the Windows key and type "winver".  What's your version?  As others have stated, you need 1809.

MS pulled the 1809 update at one point because of problems.  I'm not sure if it made it back into the regular update cycle or not, but you can get it by following their instructions here, if you're so inclined -

Thanks. That did it.  The upgrade took a few hours but it worked.  The confusion is caused by a) Windows is apparently "up to date", and b) there is another October 2018 update - but it's not 1809.  If the message referenced 1809 it would have been more obvious.  Thanks again.

Latest win update version is 1803 and not 1809. I still think there is an issue with Adobe.

Latest Windows version is 1809, but it's not being pushed out through Windows Update to everyone yet. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4028685/windows-10-get-the-update

ver 1809 was no being offered as an auto update yet. It took me several hours to finally persuade it to install . (I suspect it might have installed overnight on its own. I had checked early afternoon and it said it was current (with 1803) about 2 hours later it said, no there is another update (1809) but it took several hours and attempts to get installed

For those who need to update to Windows version 1809 (Windows October 2018 update) and it hasn't rolled out to your PC then you can force Windows 10 to update your PC to v1809. Here's the link.
