Camera Raw/Lightroom: Enhance Details broken - All-black preview and final render

I was super excited about the new Enhance Details feature rolling out today.  However, something about it refuses to work for me.  When I select the feature on an image, the preview pane only shows a completely black pane on the "Enhanced" version.  Furthermore, when I click the "Enhance" button, processor and GPU rev up and the progress bar moves, but ultimately it only renders a completely black DNG.  This seems to happen on any photo in my collection.  I have verified that I am updated to the correct version of windows, and that I am working on a CR2 RAW file.  Screenshots:

Which video card are you using? What is the current driver version?

I’ve tried it on a 25mb DNG
It created a new enhanced DNG 100mb and is useless, less sharp than the original. I can’t see any enhancement whatsoever. In fact it’s of no benefit as far as I can see.

gtx 1080 maxq  same issue and even worst if i do not desable the graphic card the lightroom classic goes directly to the crash screen , how come we are use as guinea pig, if the product get release it should work

If you disable GPU in Preferences>Performance do you see a preview in the dialog?

Disable GPU doesn't work for me either, just using the built in Intel HD Graphics 620 (i5-7200U)

DXO Photolab 2 will open the enhanced DNG file but LR and PS only show black..
Something about the rendering engine in LR and PS I'm thinking.

IrfanView will also open the DNG file, but it shows up as black and white with a heavy magenta cast.

Could you try follow https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.html to do a CLEAN driver install of the latest driver from the vendor to see if it helps.

I've run into the same problem. Lightroom Classic, MSFT Surface Book. Tried it with both Sony and Fuji RAW files. Same result. Both the preview and the final render are just black boxes. Completely useless.

I also tried Enhance Detail with the GPU setting off and got the same black box result. Did y'all unit test this code before shipping?

If you haven't done it already, try follow https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.html to do a CLEAN driver install of the latest driver from the vendor to see if it helps. And post post your Lightroom>Help>System Info... here please, thanks!

I too am having the same issues with an NVidia GForce GTX 580 on a Win 10 machine with an Intel i7-4770k @3.50 GHz and 16 gigs of ram and a Asus Sabertooth z87 motherboard. I have tried with the graphics proccessor turn on and torun off inside of Lightroom. I have followed the directions to the letter to do a clean install of the NVidia Drivers - no luck.

Hi Sam,

We're working with vendors to get the driver issue fixed. As a temporary workaround, you could specify Lightroom to use the integrated Intel GPU instead. To do that, go to Nvidia Control Panel> Manage 3D settings>Program Settings>Select Lightroom.exe and set preferred graphics processor to integrated graphics.

There is also a new Intel driver update about two weeks ago that you might want to try.

Sony a7iii user here. Same problem on both compressed and uncompressed RAW files.
Both before and after the GPU driver update as well as tried it after more windows updates (just small ones just in case.
Nothing but black. All other relevant drivers are up to date.

Same Issue, tried Nikon D700 and Fuji X-T2 raws, GPU is Nvidia GTX 770, Win10, turning GPU acceleration off does not help
