Photoshop Elements: Eliminating annoying slide show from my desktop

When trying to set a personal photo as a desktop background, I inadvertently got the entire photo folder of about 16 pictures running as a slide show every time I fail to move my mouse for 10 seconds. How do I get rid of this annoying slide show? It pops up when I'm writing emails, reading something on the internet or just have the desktop up.

What OS are you using?

How did you set the photos as your background?

Which Adobe application are you using?

Windows 7

I don't know and can't seem to get back to where within Adobe I was following instructions on setting a personal photo as background.

Adobe Photoshop 9

I suspect you mean Photoshop Elements 9.

Have you tried right clicking on the desktop and changing your screensaver/background settings in the OS?

Not sure whether to asnwer you on photoshop or the direct email...

I did change my desktop and got my eagle picture up through HP desktop as you suggested, but I can't get rid of the swimming Canadian Geese "slide show", i.e. the other images that were in the folder of Minnesota birds.
