Elements: problems printing on different paper types

I can't seem to post a new topic- it just sits here after I hit post a hundred times- so here is my issue:
I have a client that recently bought an Asus laptop with Win 8 on it. She is an artist so she wants to print 8x10 images on a heavy matte paper. When she prints on thinner paper, or tells it to print on "thick, plain paper" it prints the whole image. If she chooses Matte photo paper it will not print the whole image but spits out the image half- way printed. She used a lot of ink trying to trouble shoot this. I could get it to print fine on plain paper but anything else it spits it out half way.

We configured the printer for 8x10 (through Elements) but it refuses to print it all out. Now she's mad at me because I haven't solved her issue. I have no clue if it's the program, the printer or a windows 8 problem. I have a feeling it's a photoshop issue but it could be the printer as well. Ideas????

Note: This topic was created from a reply on the image adjustment reverts to original image after processing topic.

Something is wrong in the printer driver. Photoshop doesn't even know the type of paper (other than the color profile that you selected to match the type of paper).

I told Photoshop to control the colors and printing. In the preview it looks fine, but it spits the paper out half way through printing it. Since I am not at her house I will have to wait to see what I can do with the drivers. I will update them from the website and see if that helps. Thanks for the reply.

Again, that means there is a problem with the printer driver. Photoshop just hands the driver an image - how it gets put down, where it gets put down, and how the printer handles the paper are up to the printer driver..

OK thanks Chris. I wasn't sure if it was a wireless issue, a windows 8 issues, printer or PS elements. She is now hating Elements. Wow.
