Photoshop Elements: Images incorrectly rotated

I process thousands of photos that I take during local play productions, and recently upgraded from Elements 8 to Elements 9. That was a huge mistake. Elements 9 routinely re-orients photos incorrectly, and I am now having to go back through my project and manually re-orient each portrait photo that Elements 9 has mis-handled. And now you want me to upgrade to version 10? What are you going to screw up in THAT version? No thanks. I have a big enough headache as it is.

Stephen,

I think you are running into these issues due to a preference in Organizer which guides the behavior of handling rotation (or not) based on orientation metadata present in the file.

You can try following steps to see if this solves your problem:-
1. Launch Organizer and go to Edit >> Preferences >> Files
2. Uncheck "Rotate JPEGs using Orientation Metadata".
3. Uncheck "Rotate TIFFs using Orientation Metadata".
4. Press Ok button to commit these changes.

Now try to re-import the files showing the behavior after deleting them from catalog.

Let me know if this solves the problem.
