Elements Organizer: "The address you requested cannot be found"

Hi

Whenever I try to place a picture on the map (right click place on map) in elements organizer I get the error message "The address you requested cannot be found, please try again". This happens whatever address I enter not just specific locations so it isn't the address problem. I can put the pictures on the map by dragging them, but this is a bit laborious when the addresses are all over the place.

Any ideas?

Error “The address you requested could not be found” | Placing files on Map | Elements Organizer - Unfortunately, the Map functionality in Elements Organizer used the Yahoo Maps API. This functionality is no longer supported in Photoshop Elements versions 5 through 9. Sorry.

Do I understand that you just dropped the function? I have 10,000 photos laboriously geo tagged in anticipation of using that feature in my presentations, displays & trip books. I am very disappointed.

What alternative is there? Is there an add-on or should I look to other products for this type of functionality?

The map function within Photoshop Elements was essentially a shortcut to a web page. That webpage is no longer available. So this function no longer works in Photoshop Elements.

Lightroom 4 is adding a map function (you can check out the beta at labs.adobe.com). Lightroom will be using Google Maps instead of Yahoo Maps.

We are hoping to bring maps back in a future version of Photoshop Elements, but we have to find a solution that is compatible with the application.

Thanks for responding - I'd been having increasing problems for a number of months, but just noticed that it did not work at all. I will download the beta for Lightroom 4 as you suggest & take a look.

Another question, after looking at the product features & the price - could this be an upgrade for me?

Yes. Adobe often runs promotions for users of Elements to migrate to Lightroom and Photoshop. Obviously, promotions won't be there until Lightroom 4 is released.
