Elements: 12 Organizer has stopped working - Crashes regularly (Win 8)

I have been having a problem for some time with Elements Organizer 12 crashing regularly.

I have a large catalog of about 146K items and for the last 6 months (dating back to Elements 11) my face recognition capability quit working on more recent items. When I go back to items from years past, it seems to work fine. Since I have upgraded to elements 12 the products crashes with more regularity. I have timed the crashes at less that 4 minutes after startup and it is not necessarily related to any activity at all. In fact, it will regularly crash within about 4-5 minutes of inactivity and will crash after startup sometimes with no activity at all. If I can keep it fairly busy it seems to hold out for quite a while and can last for many hours if doing something like repairing the catalog or optimizing the catalog both of which I have done recently.

I am running on a well endowed system with plenty of disk space and 12 GB of memory running Windows 8.

Any suggestions?

Hi I don't know if you are still there, but I had a similar problem. When I turn off facial recognition in the Organizer - Edit - Preferences - Media Analysis (photoshop elements 13 displays - analyze photos for people automatically) - when I uncheck this box it no longer crashes. However, I have not found a way to be able to turn it back on to do facial recognition.
