Elements 12 Editor Slow Performance

I have been using Elements 12 for about 2 weeks and have found that the editor becomes very slow when using several tools such as cloning and magic selection. Since these are some of the basic functions, I am finding elements 12 very frustrating and almost unusable. I am running the software on a Mac Book Pro running Maverick. The Mac has an AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics processor enabled. Is there a software fix or a configuration to fix this type of problem?

Check your Editor Preferences (Cmd-K) then click on Performance In the left pane.

Memory Usage default is 70% (I'm using PSE11). If this is set too low the Editor will have to save changes to disk rather than RAM and that is much slower.

You can also reduce the Memory States (right pane) from 50 (default) to some lower number.

Be sure you don't have other CPU-intensive apps running when you're using Editor as that will also slow performance.

If you've got several other apps open in the background then starting the Activity Monitor (Applications Folder > Utilities) will show you how much CPU time each each is using.

Bonjour rmf
Pouvez vous me dire svp, o├╣ se trouve le dossier applications - utilitaires ? merci
J'ai ├ęgalement suivi vos conseils en augmentant la plage pour PSE 12 et en diminuant le cache.
Merci de votre aide
