Elements Organizer 15 doesn't import people tags

I have made people tags on a photo....saved the metadata to file and then deleted the catalog. Next time I import the photo there are no people tags.

Am I doing something wrong??

It seems like once I attach a people tag and save the metadata to the file it should be there and be seamlessly imported.

Please help as this is just a dummy run for a much larger project with 10000+ photos.

Regards,
Brent

Same problem as:

???
I don't use face recognition, only my own people tag hierarchy, sorry I can't help you. It seems that the new 'people' tags are not (or incorrectly) written in the file metadata header like with standard 'media' tags. There is a known problem of exif standard which makes other apps unable to read that info from the files.

Anyway, I would suggest not to delete a catalog without making a copy (not necessarily a backup, which takes much time) but a simple copy of the catalog folder (location: menu Help >> System Info).

The new People info is stored in the catalog. You can recover it when you convert an old catalog to the current version; you can also recover those tags when you install Lightroom.

(Edited, 'Face recognition' instead of 'geotagging', sorry)
