Elements: Get Info doesn't show layer information in the finder

I'm working with PSE 13 and Mac OS Sierra. It was all going swimmingly well until I wanted to check the names of my layers in a psd file in Finder. (I'm a scrapbooking geek and need the layers to give credit to the products I use!) Now, when I go into 'Get Info'... no layers are listed.... arrrrrgh! Apple say it's an Adobe issue and that they don't support PSE 13 anymore and Adobe say it's a Sierra issue... happy days... not!

Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: MacOS Sierra.

Forgive me for not being a Mac tech.  I am a Windows tech formerly from Microsoft.  Seems your layers which disappeared may have flattened as you saved the file.  If you save in JPG it will flatten.  JPG compresses its file remember.  Could be your forgot to save in GIF?  GIF will keep the layers open.
