Elements 2019 Printing issues

It is extremely involved for me to make/produce a Large Print. First let me say that I'm new to Elements 2019, however I used Elements 6 until a Computer upgrade along with a new Epson 5000 Printer left me with no alternative but to upgrade to Elements 2019. In the Print Program of Elements 6 all I needed to do was select Custom and enter the size Print I desired such as 16.25" X 36.25" (I provide the 0.25 margin for when I Mount, and Mat my Images). After that I was able to indicate if my Print was to be a Vertical, or Horizontal format, and that was it. In Elements 2019 you've made it VERY INVOLVED/DIFFICULT to achieve the same result. I would DEEPLY APPRECIATE YOUR REVIEW OF, AND CORRECTION OF THIS TROUBLING ISSUE.

With the newer versions of Elements and the OS (Windows and MAC) some of the properties are set by the OS. In other words Elements is aware of the printer and paper selections in effect.

Check the following: What printer is selected? What paper and printer properties are selected? Etc.

Steve I'm 80, and on a FIXED income. I make Prints to sell as Fine Art. Using an Epson4900 Printer with an older OS, along with Photoshop Elements 6 I was able to make either Vertical, or Horizontal Prints measuring 16.25 X 39.25 with NO SPECIAL EFFORT WHATSOEVER. Elements 2019 IF IT'S POSSIBLE to make such Prints there's an UNGODLY COMPLICATED PROCEDURE TO FOLLOW IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THIS. Will someone step forward and outline in DETAIL how to achieve this. MY LIVELIHOOD DEPENDS ON THIS! My MAC OS is 10.14.4, my Printer is an Epson 5000. This image was printed 16X32.

Stuart,

I sympathize with your frustration. I will try to help. It is a bit tedious the first time print options are set. Elements 2019 should be retaining settings so that the second print has less to setup. In the past more settings were fixed and not changeable. In general I think the software developers are exposing all possible settings. The operating systems and applications like Elements have many more settings available. In older software Many of these were hidden.

I have a Windows 10 system so I'm not sure if you see the options that I do. If you are having problems / frustrations with a particular step or steps, please post screenshot(s) and a description.

Review the screenshot below. Is this what you see when you try to print? I have set Photoshop Elements Editor to Expert mode. Then clicked File --> Print or you can use ctl/cmd P. One of the keys to success is to select the target printer in Step 1. In Windows the remaining settings depend on the selected printer. Based on the selected printer the settings for paper type, size, and print resolution will change.
