ELEMENTS 14 My software is 2months old and has worked fine. Until today, the clone stamp tool will not function normally. The cloned part is "stamped" as a circle and the total image moves arond and there is another layer I did not create behind the first layer.

Hi Richard,

Sorry for the inconvenience.
Can you please try following steps and see if this helps:
1. In Photoshop Elements Editor, select the Cone Stamp Tool.
2. In the Tools Options area, click the fly-out menu, and click Reset Tools.
3. Restart Photoshop Elements Editor.

In case Resetting tool does not work,
 1. Windows: Open Photoshop Elements Editor > Edit menu > Preferences > General
Mac OS:   Open Photoshop Elements Editor menu > Preferences > General
2. Select the Reset Preferences on next Launch option.
3. Restart Photoshop Elements Editor.

Do let us know if issue still persists.

Thanks,
Anwesha

Thank you. The second strategy worked.
I do have another question: When using the Clone Stamp Tool, sometimes the circle indicating the diameter of the sample covered shows up. Sometimes it doesn’t. I really like that guideline. Can you instruct me on how to engage that tool?

HI ,

This is due to CapsLock key .
On/off the capslock- It will toggle between these two states of clone stamp brush.
