Elements 13: Import/Export options greyed out (Mac OS 10.9.5)

I'm in Elements 13 Editor and trying to import an mp4. However, the import (and export) options are both greyed out. I already installed the TWAIN plugin and it didn't fix it.

Hi Emma,

Do you want to import something from the scanner?

if not, please use Place option to get an image in the Photoshop Elements editor.

Hi,

Just to add, you said you are trying to import an .mp4 file in Editor : In PSE Editor you cannot import audio/video files. It is meant for Images Editing.
