Elements 12: Registered online but cannot access program on desktop

I bought Elements 12 in October last year, could not register it online even though I was connected to the internet.

I managed to register it manually and now cannot access the program at all as I keep getting this notification. Please help!

I suspect a firewall or bad host file might be blocking the software from talking with the activation server: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/po...
