Lightroom Mobile: Edit mode reducing quality of image

Edit mode reduces the quality of the photo. How can I edit the photo when I'm not looking at the full resolution photo? When the image first loads it is sharp and clear. When it is finished loading it is soft and blurry. Tree branches become blurs. When I switch to review mode the image is sharp again. When I export the photo, it is sharp and clear and looks nothing like the photo in edit mode. I feel like I'm editing blind. I can not imagine this is supposed to be happening. I'm using v5.2 Lightroom Android. Please help if you can. Thank you.

Can you give us some information about your device? Model? Android OS version number? Free space?

Deepak, this happens to every single image in Lightroom once I switch to edit mode. Review and info mode show a clear image, once I switch to edit mode, it becomes blurry.
This happens with photos I upload from my gallery as well as photos I take using the Lightroom camera.

I have turned off the syncing hoping that would change it, but it did not.

Look at the building and the upper tree branches. Blurred.

I used to have this exact same issue on my LG G7, LG Pad X 8 and Nexus 6. I tried clearing cache, data and uninstall/reinstall with nothing working. The issue traveled over several versions for many months but finally just went away. I just checked and verified that it is not happening again, at least on my G7. I know this isn't helpful, I just wanted to share that this has happened before and the only way it went away for me was time, unfortunately. The same thing with colors loading and exporting wrong. :-( I hope that a solution can be found.

Matt, it helps to know that at least someone admits they see it. Thank you. This is a huge design flaw. I have this posted in 4 threads in the Adobe Community with no replies.

When we open the image in the Edit or Develop mode we show a preview while the smart preview is getting downloaded which is similar to the original image.  Preview is usually blurry and as soon as the smart preview is downloaded we replace the preview and load the smart preview, which is sharper and has better quality. And while this replacing of the preview with smart preview is going on, we see some blurriness being introduced in the image but that goes away within secs as the smart preview completely loads.

It looks like somehow that is not happening in this case. If possible can you try to Zoom in the image and see if that refreshes the image quality. Also, can you send us any of the sample images at LrAndroid-Feedback@adobe.com

I've posted 4 images above. I've sent an email to that address with images also. This issue still had not been resolved 2 months later.

The images came into the email address above earlier today. I will make sure they are routed to the engineer on the thread.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Edit mode visibly distorts image.

Can anyone tell me why edit mode diminishes the quality of the photo? If the photo is in review or info mode the image is crystal clear. When the photo is in edit mode, pixels are blended together and the image becomes blurry. How is one to edit a blurry image. How do you know how much to sharpen and clarify?

First image is clear. You can see the spinning wheel showing it is changing to edit mode. Second image is displaying edit mode and is blurry.
