Photoshop: Easy access to different tools

Once I am working with a tool (say the dodge & burn tool or the Healing Brush tool) I often want to change from one tool variation to another - say dodge one part of a photo and burn another.
I would like to be able to access the tool variation without going to the toolbar - say by Option Right-Clicking the mouse. This would save a huge number of people a great deal of time.
Any form of direct access to tool variation without going back to the toolbar then clicking on the tiny triangle would be great.

There are already keyboard shortcuts to select tool.

O will select the Dodge tool, J will select the Healing Brush, etc.

Shift + O will cycle between the Dodge, Burn & Sponge tool.

You can remove the shift modify by selecting Preferences>General... and uncheck "Use Shift Key for Tool Switch" so hitting just O multiple times will cycle between the Dodge, Burn & Sponge tool.

You can change the shortcuts for tools by selecting Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts... and select Tools from the pop-up.
