I just purchased a new PC, windows 8, and both Photoshop elements and Premiere elements. The PC keeps dumping when attempting to burn a PRE project, my first, to a DVD. Files have been sent to MSFT, however I was hoping you already were aware of this issue and had a repair or suggestion to burn a DVD. There we no issues with the installs of these programs to a new PC.

My version of Elements 12 installed on a Windows 7 machine with an i7 processor and 16 GB of ram crashes with trying to burn a project to dvd or to MPEG or to a file. I'm pretty disappointed.

I had a similar problem with BRD in Window 7 (Elements V7) and subsequently with DVD, BRD, & MPEG using Windows 8 and Elements V12.

Windows 8 ultimately was the power settings shutting down the PC during a long burn. You might want to try removing these, including the hard drive power down settings.

Window 7 was never resolved with BRD. I assume you've reviewed my problem with Windows 8. There are several things to attempt, but only the changing the "sleep" or power settings provided a full solution for me.

The error messages provided were not much assistance either. Fatal Error but nothing specific in the Windows logs. I still suspect my issue with the BRD in Windows 7 was related to running out of memory for the burn.

For several PRE projects using V7, the project would process for many hours, all the way thru to starting the burn, then generate the Fatal Error message. I was able to switch to MPEG, but the loss of quality back to a BRD was not acceptable.
