Photoshop: Dpx-format and file numbering when exporting sequences

I use Photoshop (CS6) in professional DI work. Retouching file sequences and dust-busting film scans.

There is however a couple of important things missing, I wish to see in future releases.
It is utmost imperative to be able to retain file format and file naming through the pipeline.
Has CC brought any improvements to following?

1. Industry standard Dpx-format is missing. Dpx can be 8, 10, 16-bit, linear or logarithmic, RGB or YUV colour space and any resolution. Cineon-format covers only a fraction of Dpx flavours.

2. Please give more digits for file sequence numbering. File name usually contains the frame accurate timecode in numeric format and this requires 8 digits. Current 5 digits cannot be used.

DPX is there - it's part of the Cineon support (since they're the same format). And linear vs. log isn't actually part of the format - more of a "post it note" decision for specific jobs. There are a lot of unofficial Cineon and DPX variants out there that Photoshop does not support.

Where are you seeing a limit on file sequence numbering?

I have actually discussed this before. I tried to wake up interest in Facebook for this topic. So, thanks for the reply.
First apologies. I was referring to output formats Photoshop can export. PS opens Dpx without problems.

Yes, Cineon and Dpx are similar formats (Dpx has evolved from Cineon). Dpx can be anything Cineon is - but not the other way round. If I have 10-bit linear Dpx, I just cannot render it out as Cineon. Cineon is flagged as logarithmic and that causes trouble in systems that read the file header. I would need that specific .dpx extension and linear flag in the header.

Dpx output is there, via Adobe Media Encore. Sorry about missing that. But it has only fixed presets for size. I would like to see custom sizes. Over 90 percent of time I need other aspect ratios and sizes than these 2K/4K presets.

In short, it is very important I can export exactly same format I input - totally transparent.

This same applies to file numbering. It's standard to use file numbering for TC data. "Frames from midnight", where e.g. program may start at 10:00:00:00. This is in 25 fps frames: file_name_00900000.dpx.
These digits must be preserved, because file format may not carry timecode information in header or it is lost/changed in some process (like Photoshop :) ). It would be most useful if Photoshop would be able to use these eight digits when exporting video.

Dear Adobe

I recently started dust busting a film roll: Over 22000 Dpx 4K frames.

Well, Photoshop still cannot export Dpx. I have to use Photoshop Cineon export, since Adobe Media Encoder option does not give me custom resolution (strike one). Cineon is NOT Dpx, although they share a lot in common. No huge problem, I can use Cineon as well.

Photoshop cannot use over five digits in export naming (strike two). Usually we need seven to eight digits. Bummer. But 22000 something fits in five digits. Needs only some renaming.

After rendering in stages, while the work progresses, I found I cannot start naming sequence over 10000! What?! (That's the third strike).

I have to think very hard how to sort the following mess.

I know Photoshop is for still images. But since you have introduced timeline & other gimmicks, and if you ever think using video in Photoshop, please start getting rid of these restrictions.
