I currently have an iPhone4 and iPad2, (I do not have a MAC), and am busy testing out the 30-day trial with the ope of using Adobe Revel as my permanent photo management system, but have noticed that I am unable to download full-Resolution photos from Revel after being uploaded. From what I understand, they are stored in their original size, and that you need the MAC client to access them in their original size. When downloading to my iPad, it seems to download a copy of the photo at the resolution of my ipad display. This is will not work for me.

I would like to use my iPad as my only device for this, and use the Revel as my permanent photo storage. Without having to go and purchase a new MAC, is there a way to download my photos at the original resolution?

As far as I am aware, the issues you raise are all true for the current version of the iOS client and there is no workround. Copies are not downloaded at full resolution on iOS devices to save precious storage space and bandwidth on a mobile device. Adobe have said that versions are being written for PC (and android) and I guess the PC version will be the same as the Mac version in that you will be able to download copies at full resolution if you should need to do so. If you have a PC, that should help but fundamentally it is recommended that copies of your originals are also kept on a Mac's hard disk (or PC when the PC client is available) as a backup.

Having said that I can see that for users who are prepared to take the hopefully small risk that Adobe could lose their precious photos, the ability to download an original or an edited version at full resolution to an iPad could be useful. It should be suggested as a future improvement.

The ability to download originals on iPads and iPhones has been asked about by other users, and is something we'd like to implement in a future produce version. It would also make sense to allow one to export a full resolution image with any changes made in Develop. I can't comment on a specific plans or schedule for this, but do want our users to know we're tracking this enhancement request.

Thank you Charlie D. I didnt want to commit myself to a subscription unless I knew it was going to be implemented at some stage.

From a photography perspective, it doesn't make sense to have to use multiple devices for a simple thing such as this. I do realise this is an early release, but it is critical if photographers are going to take this seriously.
