Hi Andrew,

Revel now does support full resolution export on iOS, if you have updated to the latest version 1.6. If you Save Original, the original file (same KB size) is downloaded. If you Save Current, the edited version of the image is saved at the original resolution (although the KB size will be different than the original)

How are you getting the images onto Revel in the first place? I ask, because several ways users get photos onto their iPad or iPhone does not in fact put the original file on the device. For example, syncing images onto your device via iTunes saved downsampled copies to your device.

Charlie, i had updated to iOS6.

I normally put images onto Revel by importing using the + function. That doesn't ask if you want to save original or current.

When i retrieve those images (which are normally at around 1500 or 2000kb file size, the size has reduced to about 400kb.

Thanks Andrew

Hi Andrew

I am also running iOS 6 on the devices which I used when trying to reproduce the problem. Hitting the '+' button to add photos to Revel is certainly the right thing to do.

What I wonder if how did the photos get onto your device? Are they synced from iTunes / iPhoto? If you're importing into Revel from your Photo Stream, please understand that Apple is not placing your original photos at their original KB -- this is by design. Apple does this so that can squeeze more photos onto your device without taking up all the space originals would require.

Can you confirm where your originals are first shot? Are they shot using the camera on the very same device? Or are you using Photostream photos or iTunes-synced photos?

The ways one can ensure Originals are imported into Revel on their iOS devices:
-- the device captures the images with its own camera, and Revel imports them from "Camera Roll"
-- you save original images sent via email
-- you copy originals to your device using Apple's Camera Connection Kit
-- you use a 3rd party app to transfer originals to your device (this isn't common)

All of the photos on Revel have been uploaded from camera roll.

I'm puzzled. I cannot reproduce this issue.

I'll send you a direct email so we can talk about your account details privately.
