I bought Photoshop Elements 9 two days ago. Then I proceeded to load my extensive picture collection into it. The "free Storage" is now full. Every time I try to load anything it says I must upgrade the online storage space. I do not need online storage at all but I do need PhotoShop's capabilities. Is this the catch? Are you truly unable to use PSE without online back-up?

You can disable the auto-sync capabilities (what is uploading your images to Photoshop.com, your online storage), by going to Edit>Preferences>Backup/Syncronization and uncheck the box that says "Backup/Sync is On".
