HI Richard,

"Adobe Photoshop CC (2014)" is required.
You may be launched in "Adobe Photoshop CC"

When you did the update, a new version of Photoshop was installed without removing the old one; if you look in your applications directory you should have both "Adobe Photoshop CC" and "Adobe Photoshop CC (2014)".

In Photoshop, choose Help > System Info... the very first line in the dialog will start with "Adobe Photoshop Version: 15.0" if you have launched the new version.

Julieanne Kost has posted a blog entry regarding this. http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/2014/06/...

Our apologies that you found the parallel install to be confusing.

Thanks for your patience,
Meredith

Hello Meredith,
Please know I spent many hours trying to figure this out. Spoke with your live chat and tel. support and neither person told me there was a parallel install. I assumed the new version just replaced the old one- as they used to do. Adobe needs to get a better understanding of how we 'laypeople' struggle with incomplete instructions and and less then well informed support staff. I think it would be only fair if Adobe waives the monthly fee for a couple of months as compensation for all the time we users have lost. It's only fair ! It would be a sign of good faith- that you take responsibility for mistakes made. Richard Waller. (User since 2006)

New versions always install as separate applications. Only small updates (14.1, 14.2) install over the old binary.

It was not clear at all that CC2014 was a completely new version. By it's very title it seemed to be an update only. Using the same words while not clarifying their meaning is cause for confusion.I wasn't the only one fooled. Many users with much more experience then me were also mislead. Some kind of compensation, some sort of good will gesture is required if Adobe wants it's customers to have trust in the company. I
