What the h e double hockey sticks, and that's from a man who doesn't usually cuss. Just performed an update on Lightroom from 5.6 to 5..7 and have lost half of my photos that were in lightroom with an error message of error occurred. The photos are now out of focus and worthless. Some 300 photos of a wedding and half of them are worthless. I am now afraid to open any more photos in light room. Thinking they were safe stored in light room some were only files I have. Most were backed up as NEFs before being deleted from the cards. At the very least it will take a lot of time to search for back ups and reload the in lightroom. WHAT IS GOING ON???? Is this repairable?

What is the exact error message you received?
What OS version are you using?

"encountered error opening photo"? Had exclamation point in upper right corner of individual pics that are along the bottom. Closed down lightroom and re-opened. All photos now appear to be intact and good. Talk about striking fear in the heart of a photographer. I would like to know what happened and why. Just a glitch after updating? I do appreciate the quick response.

I just opened Lightroom 5.7 and all my images are gone. Can't figure out what's going on. Had 35,000+ images in the catalog. Backed up, of course. But where did everything go?
