Camera Raw: Does the current version support HEIC or is there an official converter?

Camera RAW and HEIC support from what I read it's non-existant yet. Is there a future date it will be supported or is there an official Adobe converter? I'm a little weary of giving my new and unpublished photos to someone else to convert, hoping there is support soon.

It’s already there, but you have to turn it on because HEIC is not a raw format: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-cc/...

This is kind of a pain, I just use Windows Photoshop and I don't want to install Lightroom just to convert ten HEIC files that were given to me.  I will use the Windows photos app and "Save As" jpg one file at a time ... a bit slow but ok for now.  But, I will have more HEIC files coming in, is there a timeline on when HEIC support is coming to Windows Photoshop / CameraRaw?
