There is a BIG issue with this, I like how the app works and the whole idea as I believe everybody is failing with too much sharing-social networks implementation and photo apps ideas.

The BIG issue is that I do not want to give FULL right at all to anybody, let's say I have all my kids photos for the past 4 years, I want to share with my parents as they have an iPad and this seems to be a great solution.

Now I see that they can DELETE the files too? If my parents make a mistake I'll lose my library forever, ideally it should be a just "observe" option if you want to just show your photos.

My family want to see the photos but not "collaborate".

Can you tell me how to do this?

Hi Rebel spy,

Thank you for the feedback.

Adobe Carousel does allow you to share photos though Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr or email. The idea behind sharing your carousel libraries with others was that you would only share with friends or family members that you completely trusted. I understand your point though and you're not the first to suggest this. I'll pass along your feedback to the Carousel development team.

I TOTALLY 100% agree with Rebel Spy. I love being able to see my photos on iPhone, iPad and iPhone and Mac, and even more to be able to share these with my family/friends. But I would never share access to edit/delete. We should be able to restrict this access from people we share with. Lack of this feature would prevent me from purchasing this product.

Can collaborators be permissioned so that they have read only or editing rights?

It's been 9 months from what I can see. Is there any progress on this? Thanks.

Hello

With the new 1.5 release of Revel you can now create albums and share those albums with others via a URL and the images cannot be edited.

Sharing permissions by user should be implemented in future versions. They are a must.

Yes as I mentioned we now do allow album sharing via the web which eliminates some of that "deletion" concern. But I acknowledge we could still use library permissions when sharing. It's been requested before but I will re-mention it to the product manager. Thanks for the reminder.

The web albums are useful but I agree, I would really like my parents to be able to browse our family revel library on their ipads with read only access instead of me having to send them web url links all the time.

To share libraries with read only access would be a killer feature. Really.

The fact that only 24 people have this specific worry about allowing others to edit and remove pics for their created albums probably means not many people are sharing their library. Not looking hopeful for gaining VIEW ONLY access after 3 years.
