Display issues in Photoshop + delayed actions

I have just bought the new Web Premium CS5.5 package, and photoshop (5.1) has a few annoying bugs. When I have two or more windows open, the selected window graphics appear in the other (see attached). Also, when I make a change to a layer it won't display unless I click on the artwork itself. This is very frustrating, and it slowing me down. I havn't got any other programs running, have got lots of Ram, and have tried restarting multiple times. I previously downloaded a trial version of Photoshop CS5, and this didn't happen, so I know it is just this copy.
Could you please provide me a solution for this. Cheers, Ruth

You may want to update to 10.6.8 since that is the latest OS update. Let me know if that helps. I do not know why this version would be any different than the trial. They are the same bits.

Update to 10.6.8. Early versions of Snow Leopard have video driver bugs that have been fixed in recent updates.
