I just imported about 4000 pictures into Adobe Revel on my mac. I disabled the keep originals on my mac button to keep disk space usage to a minimum.

As I'm looking at the disk usage of adobe revel folders I found the following two folders:

~/User/Pictures/Adobe Revel Library (about 8 GB)
~/User/Library/Containers/com.adobe.Carousel.mac/Data/Library/Caches (22 GB)

I assume the first folder contains the preview pictures of my collection. But what about the second one? Is it save/possible to delete this folder or does it contain preview pictures of my carousels as well? I don't need to keep the originals on this mac from which they were uploaded.

Thank you very much
Florian

Hi Florian

Disabling Keep Originals should stop your Adobe Revel Library from growing, as original images will then be placed in the app cache you mentioned. Disabling Keep Originals doesn't automatically purge the library file, though this is an enhancement we know is worth adding in a future release.

If you have Keep Originals disabled, then you will see your cache grow larger over time as you pull thumbnails in from the cloud, and original resolution images into the cache by opening photos in Develop.

You can delete both the Adobe Revel Library, and also the cache folder you mentioned, and both will be rebuilt the next time you launch Revel. If you don't mind signing in again, and immediately disabling Keep Originals again, you can simply delete ~/User/Library/Containers/com.adobe.Carousel.mac/

Hope this helps!

Hi Charlie,

thank you very much for your reply. Your description helped me and solved my problem.

You could maybe include a button: delete/clear cache, so that all cached files (original resolution images) except the thumbnails of the pictures could be deleted easily from within the Mac app. I think this is already possible in your mobile revel app. I understand that in case I click a picture again in full view/developing mode it has to be downloaded again.

Thank you very much
Florian
