Hi,
I downloaded the trial versions of both PSE 10 and PRE 10 to see if I wanted to upgrade from PSE 9 & PRE 9. There were sufficient improvements that I went ahead and purchased the upgrade version of both. But PRE 10 could still use some improvement. First, the number of disc menus available in PRE 10 is somewhat less than only 3/4 of the number available in PRE 8. Although there seem to be more than were on PRE 9. Secondly, the variety of disc menus available in the Sports category is conspicuously missing Basketball, Football, Tennis, and Track. These are important and popular sports in America and I would ask that disc menus for those 4 sports be developed and made available in an update as soon as possible. Those 4 sports may not be as popular internationally, but it would be very helpful to have them available in the USA. And maybe even better, how about revising the PRE 10 software to include a "user friendly" option to create our own disc menus??? That would solve the problems of the reduced number available compared to PRE 8, and as Adobe customers, we would be able to be even more creative with the disc menus we include in our projects. Thanks

Hi Walt,

Do you have all of the Content installed?

You can download it from here if needed

Dave,

Hi,

My purchased update versions of PSE 10 & PRE 10 should be arriving any day. Until then, I did the trial versions Internet download of both about 3 weeks ago, and those trial versions are what are currently on my computer. My plans are to delete both trial versions once my upgrade discs arrive , then do fresh installs of both from the discs.

After I did the downloads of PSE 10 & PRE 10, then I went back and did the download of 10's Content. Why are you asking if I have all of the 10 Content installed? I think I do. Are you indicating that if I do have all of it downloaded that I should be able to already see disc menus for Basketball, Football, Tennis and Track? Or are you saying that there is already in PRE 10 a user friendly option that we can use to create our our disc menus? Or what?

Thanks,

Walt

Hey Walt,

There really shouldn't be any difference in the trial and the retail version and you can just enter the serial number for your purchase into your current trial version to convert it to a retail version without needing to worry about reinstalling.

For the Content question I just wanted to ensure you had it installed. You are correct regarding the Disc menus. It appears there is one less in the Sports section and fewer overall between the two versions. I'll pass along your feedback to the product team for the 4 additional sports menus you've described.

Dave,
Thanks for the reminder about just entering the serial number. I may try that just to see if it gets rid of the ugly PRE 10 "watermark" . I'd be interested in understanding why they felt it necessary to add such a feature of ugliness to the trial version. I don't know about anyone else, but surely there is a better way of ensuring that the opportunity to use a trial version isn't abused. Personally, I would like to have edited a project in PRE 10 using the trial version, but I didn't want my time to be wasted in ending up with a project that couldn't be shared with anyone because of that watermark. I'll just wait until my purchased upgrade arrives. But having the trial version allowed me to explore some of what's available, such as the disc menus, transitions, etc. In the end I did decide to upgrade, but somehow it seems there must be a better way to protect the trial version concept without having to treat everyone who downloads the trial version as a potential criminal. Somehow, I don't remember that happening when I was using PRE 8 and tried the PRE 9 trial before upgrading to that.
In addition to passing along my feedback about the 4 additional sports menus, would you also be sure to pass along my suggestion about adding the feature of a "user friendly" option to PRE 10 that will allow us to create our own disc menus? And that option should allow us to also modify the existing disc menus that come with PRE 10. That will give us so much more creative freedom.
Thanks for your help.
