Lightroom: Develop Module Defaults

I have a few suggested changes to the Develop Module defaults that I think could really help reduce repetitive tasks.

1) Make "Remove Chromatic Aberration" checked by default. This new feature works fantastically well and simplifies workflows when utilized. Unfortunately, with it unchecked so many users don't take the time to enable it and loose out on the improved quality it provides. It's works so well with no apparent downsides that I've seen.

2) Lower the Vignetting Midpoint in both Lens Corrections and Effects Panels. The default Midpoint values produces a vignetting quality that's obvious and unnatural. Lower Midpoint values produce a more subtle and natural vignetting quality that I find photographers to universally prefer. I'd like to see the midpoint values at 0 or 10.

3) Increase the Post Crop Vignetting Feather value. The default Feather value "0" produces a vignetting quality that's obvious and unnatural. Higher Feather values produce a more subtle and natural vignetting quality that I find photographers to universally prefer. I'd like to see the feather value at 100 or 90.

I currently use a Develop Preset to automate these tasks upon import but I think if any of these changes were implemented in a future version I think it would help the marjory of users to get the desired results with reduced effort. Thanks for listening!

There are performance reasons that the CA checkbox isn't checked by default, but yes, it works great.

I can see why your suggested defaults could also work nicely. Do you realise that you can change the defaults yourself, so you don't have to apply an import preset?

IMO, the benefits far outweigh performance concerns. People are always bummed out they've been missing out on better quality when they are told about it.

Naturally I know how to change the default for my own system, but I'm trying to look out for others with these suggestions. If LR's defaults were *even better* then it makes it that much easier for the masses. My defaults help 1 person. When well chosen, Adobe's defaults help millions.

And why is Lightroom spelled with capitol "T" "R" and "M" in this subject line here? I didn't do that. The other thread I started spelled Lightroom in all caps. Odd that is.

The thread doesn't spell lightroom -- you have to add that to the topic to indicate which product you're referring to. Otherwise the moderators have to figure out which product you're talking about and change the topic title.

I get that. It's just that I made two LR related threads and checked only the Lightroom topic checkbox each time. One thread spelled Lightroom with all caps which this thread spelled it with partial caps. Weird right?
