Demystifying .asl files...

I recently purchased a series of layer tetx effects for Photoshop. In these folders are contained 4 .asl files. I understand these are Photoshop layer filters. Do I need to load these .asl files within the Photoshop application to be able to use them? If so, do you know what folder I'd place them in? Thanks to anyone who can shed light on this.

Those are styles preset files. You open them in the styles palette in Photoshop.

Thanks, Chris. I think the burning question is, "Where do I keep these on my system?" (Where should they be stored so that they can be accessed.)

Currently they are in the folders with the .ps files on my desktop. Should these .asl files be placed in, say, a special folder within the .ps application folder?

Anywhere you want to. They don't need to be in any special folder.

You can put them in the Presets/Styles folder for easy reference, if you wish.
