Hi Graeme

I replied to your original post at http://feedback.photoshop.com/photosh...

Please confirm the app you are using. What app you're using isn't clear, and therefore it's not totally clear if you're trying to clear out some online account, or stop a sync of an group of photos from some app like Photoshop Elements, or retry syncing photos, or... ?

Which application are you using?
That sounds like you are using Elements. If so, which version?

The answer depends on how you deleted your files and how you 'shifted' the others.
- When you use the 'delete' command, you get a dialog in which there is a checkbox to 'also delete from the disk'. If you don't check it, the picture files stay on your drive; the links to the photos in your catalog are deleted. Remember the catalog is only a list with links to the real paths of your files.
- If you used the 'move' option in the organizer (or the drag and drop feature in the left folder panel), the picture files will be moved to the new drive, not simply copied.

Hi Michael.I had files where I had saved on my desk top after I had worked on them In desperation I have deleted just about all the photos out of my organizer which then deleted all the files which were at the side.I gained no space on my lap top by doing this and I can't understand why

As is said in my first post, the catalog is only a list.
If you delete from the list, that does not free space.
If you tick the checkbox to also delete from the disk, the picture files are sent to the trashbin. If you empty the trashbin, you gain space.
