In Lightroom 6.1.1 Library module using X-Y view.
After deciding to delete one of the images on show, right click it,
select "Remove Photo..." then
"Delete from Disk",
selecting "Permanently Delete Files" you get an error dialogue saying:
Error
An internal error has occurred: ?:0: attempt to index a nil value

Seems to be working fine for me in Windows 8.1
What is your OS?

Windows 10.
It happens every time, I 'select' the two photos I want to compare in the grid view, then click on X-Y to see them side by side.

Have you tried resetting your preference file?

Close Lightroom
Hold down [Alt/Opt][Shift] while opening Lightroom
[Delete Preferences] button.

Does it behave the same afterwards?
