Photoshop: Deleting a LAYER mask applies the mask instead (due to choosing not to ask you when deleting VECTOR masks)

If you delete a vector mask, Ps asks "do you want to delete the vector mask" and a simple ok/cancel. A simple confirmation dialog.
However, if you choose "don't show again" on the "do you want to delete the VECTOR mask"-dialog, it will from then on start to apply LAYER masks when you try to delete them (applying mask was not even an option in the dialog you answered).

It's clearly a bug. Choosing "don't show again" for one dialog, should not affect other dialogs or change other settings. Please fix.

Ps: If you delete a layer mask, why would it even ask if you want to apply it? Weird thing to ask when I choose "delete"? It's like asking if I want to do the opposite of what I chose... But you can choose "don't show again" so fair enough I guess... If only it didn't start auto-applying them due to choosing "don't show again" for deleting vector masks...

I think that the real bug is that this dialog should have the THREE options: Apply, Delete, Cancel. If you delete a layer mask that is what you'll get. Then it makes sense to click the 'Don't show again' checkmark and either delete or apply the mask.

Yeah, it could be improved a bit, but the point is that there are two separate dialogs.

One for deleting layer masks and one for deleting vector masks. Choosing "don't show again" in the delete vector mask confirmation dialog (that doesn't even have an apply option) automatically also hides the layer mask dialog and sets layer masks to always apply instead of delete. That is bad behaviour.

I want to be able to normally delete layer masks without having them auto-applied. And I would like to be able to tick the "don't show again" button to have it not ask me when deleting vector masks. Now I cannot, due to this bug.

I know and I agree, but my point is that 'Apply' should be a choice in the delete vector mask dialog in the first place. Just as it's a choice in the delete layer mask. That's where it already goes wrong. If you had this button, as you should have, then the behaviour after you check 'Don't show again' would be to always delete or always apply, depending on your choice.

Yeah, although to apply a mask I would never choose delete in the first place. So I'm fine with it not being an option in the delete confirmation dialog. ;)

But yeah, either way it should be consistent and the same for both dialogs. And the choice made in one should not affect the other like it does now.

Or they could be merged to a single dialog. That also makes sense.

Not really.
I choose not to see the message dialog, and now it applies the layer mask to the layer  when i press delete button or drag the layer mask on delete button.
Only by pressing right click and choose delete layer mask i can delete the layer mask.

I think the case should be the opposite.
