Current functionality: If any of the layers in your comp are locked, the "Delete Hidden Layers" command becomes disabled.

Desired functionality: If any of the layers in your comp are locked, the "Delete Hidden Layers" command should delete all hidden, unlocked layers.

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for the suggestion. FYI - this would be possible via scripting. I bet someone on ps-scripts.com may already have such a script or would be able to help create a script to do this.

This suggestion is specifically targeted at the existing UI/workflow for deleting hidden layers.

I do appreciate the feedback on alternative ways to accomplish this task, though my goal with this suggestion is to reduce end-user friction. Scripting is indeed a powerful tool, but I think it would be preferable if the Delete Hidden Layers had this (admittedly minor) hard edge polished off.

Thanks again for the quick response!

Yup. I always like to offer existing alternatives. I suspect, if we did make this change, that we'd provide a dialog to pick whether to delete locked hidden layers.
