I would like to see a way to delete or drop catalogs from the Select Catalog page. When we create a catalog it is automatically added. When we are finished with a catalog there is no way to delete the catalog from the list.

Hard to argue with that one, but isn't there a work-around for the mean time? (i.e. way to remove by some hacky/klugy/geeky method...)

Workarounds:

Klugy: Rename the "offending" catalog file (and its preview folder/file) after creating it. Note that LR will still remember the old name and present it after re-renaming or creating a new catalog using the old name.

Hacky/geeky: Edit the preferences file (after making a backup) and remove the catalog file from the section "recentLibraries20". Pay attention to the opening and closing brace, the commas, the line-continuing-backslashes and the inner "recentLibraries" section with its opening and closing quotation marks. An error made here will reset all preferences to defaults. However, with LR's normal formatting it seems that each remembered catalog is on its own line, so deleting that line seems to be safe (even if it is the first or last line).

Important: Some editors (e.g. windows notepad) add so-called "byte order marks" to the file, which LR cannot interpret, causing it to completely revert to default setting. Use an editor that does not do that (e.g. windows wordpad).

P.S. Observe the "recentLibraries20_missing" section: There, LR remembers all catalogs it once knew of, that do not exist at present (see remark for "kludgy").

I like the hacky/geeky method best :-)
