Delay when working on canvas with tools (move/brush/lasso, etc)-- have to hold mouse button for 2 seconds before i can do anything.

Just upgraded to CS6 from CS3, great stuff, love it-- but there's a big problem that prevents me from working efficiently.

After working with images for a short while (+/- 10 minutes), PS would start acting strange. Everything is functional and fast except that there is a 2-second lag when I click the mouse button on the canvas.

For example: I'd click Move Tool (V) from the toolbar. No problem. Then I'd go drag the layer that I want to move on the canvass... but it requires me to hold the button for at least 2 seconds over the layer before I can actually move it! But once the layer is moving, it's really smooth and responsive.

When I use the paint brush, if I hold the mouse button and move around the canvas right away, it will take PS about two seconds to catch up and it's laggy. However if I just hold the mouse button in one place first, then start moving after 2 seconds, it's fine!

Weird, I know... Anyone experiencing this? Otherwise it's great!

System:
Win7 64bit, PS CS6 64bit, 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, 512MB Radeon X1900X

Note: Efficiency is 100% all the time. The program is fast and I do not experience slow performance in saving, going through menus, opening plug-ins, etc. Just a DELAY when I'm actually working on the canvas!

Note 2: Purged everything. Did not help.

Note 3: Have one plug in which is Alien Skin Exposure 4 but the problem is there regardless if i've used the plug in or not.

Note 4: I'm using CS3 at the moment until the issue with CS6 is resolved.

Thank you in advance.

Make sure you have the 13.0.1 update installed.

Try disabling all third party plugins.

And make sure you update your video card driver from the GPU maker's website.

Thanks Chris.

13.0.1 is installed.

Video card driver is from ATI.

Now I'm going to try working without plug-ins... but in any case I have been using Alien Skin Exposure since ages. Is there any known compatibility issues with ASE 4 and CS6? ASE 3 and CS3 works like a charm.

Thanks again for your response.

Edit: 30 minutes now and still not lagging. Hm. Could indeed be ASE4. Will go on for longer then im gonna use ASE and see what happens.
