In Lightroom, to have the ability to create a default "Identity Plate" that is applied to all new catalogs created. It would also be very helpful to be able to establish templates for catalogs.

Indeed, this is so basic and yet overlooked item ... it should have been addressed in the v1 beta ... like was suggested way back when ... Six years later and still no solution ...

I would extend that to include a new Catalog Template with a stocked set of Keywords, Smart Collections, etc. It would be really handy for those travel catalogs that have to reintegrate into the master...

I wondered how many of you have a "catalog of a catalog" setup? When I shoot, each session becomes a catalog. When I shoot several sessions, such that they could be consistently categorized, I create a catalog and use only "Add To" option.

What if in a later release of LR 4.x, there is an option to have a saved template so that when a user creates a new catalog, the settings would be automatically copied?

Settings like the standard previews, I always elect to use 1680 pixels and "Never." (I don't want my preview thumbs to be discarded). I also don't want to have ACR/Develop settings saved into the metadata. So I would have to go into the third tab in the Catalog Settings to un-check the option.

I like the identity plate. It would be great if any new catalog I create will have my name plate automatically included. Please think about the practicality of the request. If this has been asked or suggested, please merge or add my vote to the appropriate thread.

Thank you for reading.

Yours sincerely,
