One great thing about Revel is that it has allowed me to upload photos from the multiple computers on which family members have stored pictures over the years to create a single library.
The bad news (both for me and for whomever manages your server farm) is that it has brought to light the fact that there were versions of the same picture on multiple computers, so my unified library now contains a load of duplicates.
I understand that Revel tries to avoid uploading duplicates by comparing checksums not filenames. Well I certainly have duplicates so I can only assume that my visually identical pictures have different checksums somehow.
So here is my feature request:- Offer the ability Deduplicate pictures through some kind of pixel analysis to suggest duplicates. I bet I'm not the only one with this issue and manually looking for dupes in a 20000 picture library will be a major PITA.
