Lightroom Mobile: December 2019 update "export to camera roll" (iOS) - what settings does it use?

In the December 2019 update the "Export to Camera Roll" option no longer asks what size you want to export at. I was wondering what settings it uses. I verified that it is NOT your most recent custom export settings by performing a custom export with the "long side" dimension set to 100px, then immediately performing "Export to Camera Roll" and getting an image that is obviously more than 100px on the long side.

Hi wild surge, when I export to camera roll and click on the icon on the right side, then I can define the pixels. Do you mean that is not working? On my iphone it is working

Nothing's broken! It's how it's supposed to work now! I was just wondering what settings it uses.

Your behavior more closesly matches the behavior before the December 2019 update. The iPad and iPhone apps are different builds and have totally different UIs so that may be why yours behaves differently. I'm using the iPad app. But I don't expect it to behave differently from it does, I just want to make sure I'm exporting high quality full size images if I do it "the quick way" :)

Have tried it on my iPad Pro as well and the result is the same. Your comment is very helpful to avoid bad pictures exports when you forget to change back a special export setting.

Interesting, I wonder if we're running different builds somehow.

I agree, I was concerned that I might do a custom export for a specific purpose and forget I had done so!

I am using build v5.1.0 93E03A on my iPad and your concerns are absolutely correct

I figured it out. I didn't realize the toggle icons on the right were separate from the export command, and I misunderstood your comment.

So it seems that the safest thing to do would be to set the "Export to Camera Roll" settings to the desired defaults, and change them as little as possible, using "Custom Export" for exports that should not use those settings, since the "Custom Export" settings seem to be saved separately.

Yes, with the „Export as“ you can email, AirDrop, Copy, .... and „Save Image“ to camera roll. With „Export to Camera Roll“ you can just ... Export to camera roll. The settings can be different
