Photoshop: Cylindrical warp

Please add cylinder warp as an option. I apply smart objects to cylinders, so designers can swap out designs as needed. The photographers are not always shot at the same angle and the cylinders are not always the same width so, there needs to be some flexibility. The current warp tool is not robust enough (not enough vertices) to accurately represent the foreshortening that happens at the outer sides of a cylindrical object which looks awkward at best when applied. So, please add a cylindrical warp or more vertices to the warp tool. If there is another way to accurately place a smart object on a cylinder, please advise. THanks

Have you looked into the 3D capabilities? I think when you make a 3D layer, the texture applied can be edited as a 2D smart object, so you could have a 3D cylinder and designers would replace the texture in 2D... just did a quick search and found this:
