Custom .ABR presets not compatible with latest PS version.

My .abr archive is not compatible with the latest version of photoshop. Brush packs and presets that I have set up and used for years to streamline my process and keep consistencies within my teams all of a sudden, don't work. Can development help solve this issue for me? It's really throwing a wrench in my whole process which is time sensitive. Is an .abr converter possible?

Could you maybe install a bit older PS version and save it as a new preset file?

I’ll try that and see if it works. Thanks!

My .abr files going back centuries still work, so it really shouldn't be age, I wouldn't think—not that alone, anyway. But we recently had a poster who had .abr files over 2GB. If going back to an older PS version doesn't help,  maybe it's the size or number of brushes in a set?

Jeffrey Tranberry from Adobe was able to help by opening and resaving them in smaller chunks. Maybe he can do something similar. They did change a few things about brushes fairly recently, though I'm not quite sure what all might have been involved.

There might be a difference if you resave them during the years.
