Curves & Levels adjustment layers do not have live preview during the actual change. Only after release of the mouse cursor. This was not present in Photoshop CC 2019. I have been online with tech support for hours. They cannot find the issue. The targeted adjustment tool in photoshop is my most used tool and I like to make tiny live adjustments to files I'm working. Now I don't know how the curve is affected while making the change. I went back to an older version of photoshop 2020 (the first build) and this bug was not present then either!

MacOS 10.15.6 & 10.15.5
Photoshop 21.2.0
Creative Cloud 5.2.0.436

Are you using some special mouse drivers? Everything works fine on my Mac with the same software.

I am using a Logitech mouse on my Mac. I'll turn it off and see if that's the culprit. Running the same software on my 2018 MacBook Pro, it does work as intended so it could be mouse related.
*Mouse is not the culprit.

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro that I finally tried photoshop on. It works as expected and smoothly. With my Mac mini, I am running an eGPU setup (AMD 5700XT). So I suspect there is just a bug between the os, photoshop, egpu and that fact this egpu is navi. Hopefully with future updates it'll be resolved with Mac adopting navi dgpu's. I'll hook the MacBook up to the egpu and run some tests to see if my theory is correct.

I run Photoshop on a Mac Mini with eGPU (BlackMagic, Radeon Pro 580) too and do not have any problems.

Great to hear Eartho! I can confirm PS 2020 is not optimized, at least for my setup. I went back to version 20.0.9 and it works marvelously! No lag, all tools are smooth and all adjustment layer previews work. On the MacBook Pro, PS 2020 is fine with no issues. So my guess it's an issue between Adobe/Navi AMD GPU's with the 21.2.0 version of PS.
